Rodney B. Smith Plumbing, Heating, and Cooling, Inc. was established in 1983.  We are celebrating our 35th anniversary in business. We currently have 45 employees and 30 fleet vehicles on the road.  We have a good reputation in the community for prompt and reliable service.  Our business philosophy is that we want to do business with a customer for a lifetime.  We employ highly trained employees that are eager to serve the customer.  We are constantly sending our employees for further education in their specialized fields.
Rodney began his interest in the plumbing field by assisting his grandfather on jobs as a teenager.  He then pursued training at the Franklin County Career and Technology Center and excelled in their program.  He enlisted in the U.S. Navy following high school and attended classes and training in advanced pipe fitting, high pressure silver brazing and induction brazing, boiler operations and maintenance.  His qualifications allowed him the opportunity to work on sophisticated nuclear powered submarines.  After completing his active duty, he continued in the Reserves for several years.  Following his military service, he became a lead plumbing mechanic with Kottcamp Mechanical Contractors.  Their main project at that time was a major renovation at the Chambersburg Hospital.
Rodney obtained his Master Plumbers License in 1982 and began his own business in August 1983.  He gradually added employees as his business grew.  In 1990, he also began to grow the HVAC side of the business to accomplish his goal to become a complete mechanical contractor.  With a residential base already established, the commercial work began to increase and currently accounts for 85% of work completed. Our mechanically contracting team is highly skilled and highly trained. We specialize in Commercial, Industrial, and Residential projects and services. Allow us to show you what we can do.
“We  love what we do for a living and would love to perform any projects big or small for your home or business.”
